Shelby Miner is an Associate Attorney at Blackstone who litigates both class action and PAGA representative claims. Since gaining admission to the California Bar in 2017, Ms. Miner’s practice has been entirely devoted to vindicating the rights of California workers, both private and public. She has experience with all aspects of a case from initiation through class certification. Ms. Miner is passionate about redressing labor code violations for those who may not be able to defend themselves.
Ms. Miner graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities in 2014 with degrees in Anthropology, Communications, and Leadership. She earned her law degree from UCLA School of Law with a specialization in Tax Law where she published an article regarding Use Tax and the changes that should occur in that area of law, for which she was awarded the Christopher E. Bergin Award for Excellence in Writing. While studying at UCLA, Ms. Miner was the President of the Moot Court Program and received the Order of the Barristers designation upon graduation. Throughout her time in law school, Ms. Miner worked for the District Attorney’s Office, the Court of Appeals, and a private firm. Ms. Miner is admitted to practice law in California and Minnesota. She is also a member of the National Lawyers Guild, the California Employment Lawyers Association, the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, and the Los Angeles Bar Association.
Ms. Miner is licensed to practice in California and Minnesota state courts, as well as the Central District of California and the DC Court of Appeal. Outside of her career, Ms. Miner enjoys reading, backpacking, SCUBA diving, traveling, and music festivals.
